Welcome to Class
Curated by me and other collaborators, this is a growing and living collective of transgressed learning. I believe systems should love us — and until they do, we’ll keep studying, imagining, and building the ones we deserve.
We have syllabi, public lectures, learning tools, and community teaching resources centered on:
Black, Indigenous, and intersectional futures
Queer, Trans, and Two-Spirit Joy
Methodological Anarchy and Guerrilla Research
Sociotechnical Systems in the Age of Artificial Intelligence
Grief as method, joy as pedagogy, and love as curriculum
Youth-centered, trauma-informed, culturally grounded tools
Whether you're an educator, a student, a healer, a TikTok creator, or just someone trying to learn more, this space is yours, too.
Why a Curriculum?
I’m passionate about learning, yet I have a strong aversion to academic institutions. This internal conflict shapes my belief that the curriculum is the best way to convey information. The core of education isn’t the problem; it’s the material being taught and the perspectives that are prioritized. Many educational institutions teach social norms that uphold the status quo in society. It’s important to distinguish between hating schooling and hating learning; after all, learning is an act of love.
I navigated my way into a PhD program to serve as a bridge between the ivory towers of academia and the communities I am part of. My goal is to elevate the knowledge I gain in these communities while also bringing valuable skills and information back to them to see if they are beneficial. I strive, as bell hooks suggests, to imagine ways to move beyond boundaries and to transgress societal limitations. I aim to use education as a practice of freedom.
